Gut Ripper! An old school death metal band from Östersund, Sweden that draws it’s influences primarily from the Stockholm
extreme metal scene during the 90’s. With bands like Entombed, Dismember and Grave being the primary ones but has no
problems with finding inspiration from other musical genres.
The bands latest release is the second studio album ”Necrowork” released in November 2023 through CDN Records in
Canada.
Prior to that the band has released one demo in 2017 called ”Demo 2017”
, the first full length album ”On Dead Beings” in
2018, a live album ”Dead at Domsaga” in 2019 and a split single in 2020 called ”Mutually Assured Destruction”
.
The bands soundscape features maxed out HM-2 driven guitars, heavily distorted bass and fast pounding drums mixed with
lyrical themes of war, personal suffering, corrupted officials and corporate leaders together with riffs that have both
chugging parts but also melodic bits and pieces.
The bands line-up has changed during the years but in it’s current configuration the band is a power trio that is comprised of
members that all together have an quite extensive history of doing live shows with both Gut Ripper and other projects.
